15 pounder gun with breech loading conversion from the latter part of the 19th Century. This gun was really the forerunner of the famous British 13 & 18 pounders of the beginning of the 20th Century, there being many similarities in the carriage designs.

4.7inch Naval Gun on extemporised carriage
During the Boer War Britain needed to get big guns far inland to Ladysmith and Mafeking. The only pieces available were 4.7inch naval guns. So Captain Percy Scott of HMS Terrible designed this extemporised carriage to get them there.
